Clarence "Toby" Davis

Clarence "Toby" Davis, 85, of Glyndon, MN, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Clarence Otis Davis was born June 26, 1928, to William and O'Lena (Olson) Davis, on a farmstead northwest of Barnesville, MN. In 1931, young Clarence and his family moved to Glyndon, where he remained a lifelong resident. At the age of sixteen, he began working with the Great Northern Railroad.

On August 8, 1949, Clarence was united in marriage to the love of his life, Clara Branden, at Webster, SD. They made their home in Glyndon. Clarence continued to work for Great Northern Railroad, and then Burlington Northern Railroad, after they merged, until he retired on June 30, 1989, after 44 years of service. Clara died on April 2, 1998, and Clarence has continued to make his home in Glyndon.

Clarence was a lifelong member of Glyndon Congregational United Church of Christ. He enjoyed taking car rides throughout the countryside, going out and enjoying a good meal, and watching wrestling. Clarence also loved spending time with family.

He is survived by his children, Dean Sellers, Parker, SD, Leon Sellers, Lake Park, MN, and Sharon Hendrickson, Moorhead, ; grandchildren, Shannon (Shawn) Johnson, Moorhead, Pete (Trudy) Hendrickson, Cheboygan, MI, and Kimberly (Jeremy) Anderson, Glyndon; great-grandchildren, Nevada, Keagan, Kaley, Braydan, Hunter, Skyler, Bridgette, and twins, Danni and Gracie; brother, Roy Davis, Moorhead; nephews, John Davis, West Fargo, ND, and William Davis, Dilworth, MN; and a niece, Patty Davis, Des Moines, WA.

In addition to his wife, Clara; he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward and Orville Davis; sister, Julia Lillian Bell; and son-in-law, Wayne Hendrickson.

Visitation: Sunday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with at 6:00 PM Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN

Funeral Service: Monday, May 19, 2014, at 2:00 PM, in Glyndon Congregational United Church of Christ, Glyndon.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon.
