Donna Mae C. Albertson 87, Fargo, ND, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, in Bethany on University, Fargo.
Donna Mae Clarette Dorseth was born August 17, 1930, the daughter of Henry and Viola (Christensen) Dorseth, in the Ada Hospital, Ada, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Aspelund Lutheran Church, Flom, MN. Donna Mae attended Woodland Nook country school and Waubun High School.
On June 1, 1947, she was united in marriage to Sanford Albertson of Flom and they had two children, Susan and Steve. They lived in Flom for some time and then moved to Hendrum, MN. In 1961, they returned to Flom where she operated the Flom Café. Sanford and Donna Mae moved to Twin Valley, MN, in 1968, and she worked for ten years as an aide at Lutheran Memorial Home. In 1978, they moved to Moorhead, MN, where Donna Mae worked at St. Luke's/Meritcare for twenty-three years, retiring in 2001. Sanford died in 1995. After Sanford's death, she continued to live in Moorhead until moving to Fargo in 2008.
Donna Mae and Sanford were members of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo. She loved her church family and was active in WELCA, Pep Club, card making and quilting.
She is survived by her two children, Susan Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD, and Steve (Doreen) Albertson, Fargo; grandchildren, Stephanie (Darrin) Cole, Sioux Falls, and Rick (Heather) Johnson, Chandler, AZ; four great-grandchildren, Kendra, Seth, Jordan and Andrew Cole; brothers, Vernon (LaVonne) Dorseth, Flom, and Alden (Shirley) Dorseth, Little Falls, MN; sisters, Gloria Francis, Mahnomen, MN, and Linda (Keith) Axvig, Brainerd, MN; sister-in-law, Mary Albertson, Twin Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Sanford, she was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Richard Johnson; three grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Eugene Albertson.
Memorials may be directed to Pontoppidan Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
A Visitation for DonnaMae will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:30 PM, Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead.
Her Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 11 AM, in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
Burial will be in Aspelund Lutheran Cemetery, Flom, MN.
