Adeline J. Aamold, 80, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, October 24, 2009, in Knute Nelson Nursing Home, Alexandria, MN.
Adeline Joyce Oien was born October 27, 1928, to Carl and Catherine (Jorgenson) Oien on the family farmstead in rural Blanchard, ND. She attended rural school Bloomfield #1 and attended Hillsboro (ND) High School.
On July 23, 1947, Adeline married Carl Aamold in East Grand Forks, MN, and they made their home in Moorhead. She worked for various businesses in the area including Oak Manor and the Town House in Fargo, as a bartender/waitress.
Adeline enjoyed completing cross word puzzles, playing cards and traveling with her husband. She had an avid interest in genealogy and belonged to the Genealogy Society and the Danish American Club. She was a member of the Moorhead American Legion Post 21 Ladies Auxiliary and the Dilworth VFW Post 1223 Ladies Auxiliary along with being a Gold Star Mother. She was also a member of the WELCA at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Adeline is survived by her husband, Carl, Moorhead; a son, Curtis (Sandra) Aamold, Alexandria; a daughter, Susan Sheeley, Fergus Falls, MN; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gilbertson; two brothers, Kenneth Oien, Fertile, MN, and Donald (Delores) Oien, Foley, MN; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Katie) Aamold, Michael (Leyla) Aamold, Bethany Aamold, Christopher (Amy) Aamold, and Jessica (Ralph) Bermea; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Noah, Erik and Elias Aamold.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Bruce; three sisters, Marian Buringrud, Hazel Nelson, and Francis Hickey Larson; and a sister-in-law, Marlys Oien.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2 PM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
