Adeline M. Mjor, Fargo, ND, formerly Moorhead, MN, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in Sheyenne Crossings Transitional Care, West Fargo, ND, at the age of 92.
Adeline Mabel Helseth, eldest daughter of Mathias and Anna (Storbeck) Helseth, was born in Ulen, MN, on April 8, 1924. She grew up and received her education near her farm home, where she attended district school # 29. She was baptized, and confirmed at Altanta Lutheran Church, near Ulen. After graduating from Ulen High School in 1942, she moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, where she was employed as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital.
On September 3, 1949, Adeline married Elmer A. Mjor in Hitterdal, MN. In 1950, they moved to a home in Moorhead, where they lived until Elmer died on August 30, 1986.
Adeline was a hard worker in the home, caring for and providing for her family. She loved to work in their large garden growing vegetables and flowers. She was a full-blooded Norwegian, and she loved to cook lutefisk, lefse, and other Norwegian delicacies for special occasions. She was well known for her fantastic homemade buns.
Adeline was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in north Moorhead and she enjoyed belonging to the Quilters and made many quilts. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Moorhead. She enjoyed "sing-a-long" at the Moorhead Senior Citizen Center and she took part in numerous activities at Park View Terrace, Moorhead, where she lived for 25 years after Elmer died. Adeline lived at Ecumen Evergreens Assisted Living, Fargo, until she had a heart attack in November of 2016, following which she moved to Sheyenne Crossings.
Adeline is survived by a sister, Bernice Okeson, Twin Valley, MN; daughters, Janelle (Michael) Goettel, Vergas, MN and JuliAnn (Mark) Houglum, Moorhead; a son, Elwood (Jana) Mjor, St. Louis Park, MN; grandchildren; Brock Knudson, Fargo, Allison Faller, Fargo, Adam Mjor, Roseville, MN, and MacKenzie Houglum, Moorhead; and great-granddaughter, Mya Belle Faller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents; and a special uncle, Carl Helseth.

Visitation for Adeline will be Friday, February 24, 2017, from 10 AM until 11 AM, followed by her funeral service Friday at 11, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
