Adolph G. Miller, 87, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on September 1, 2016, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Adolph was born to Alice and Adolph Miller in rural Perley, MN, on October 31, 1928. He was the third of eight children and attended Roosevelt Rural School, close to the family farm, in Mary Township, MN. Following in the footsteps of his father, Adolph became a farmer. He was introduced to Grace "Janeene" Kripps of Minneapolis, MN, while she attended school at the Catholic Mount, during a visit to the family farm with Adolph's cousin, Mary Agnes. The two were married April 19, 1952. From then on, Adolph and Janeene lived and farmed south of Borup, MN, where they raised their seven children. Adolph and Janeene retired in 1994, and moved to Moorhead in 1997, to enjoy their retirement.
Besides farming and raising his children, Adolph worked at the Moorhead Beet Plant for approximately 15 years, was a member of the Borup School Board, and a member of the Eagles Club in Fargo, ND. Adolph and Janeene were also very active at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Moorhead, where Adolph was a 4th Degree Knight within the Knights of Columbus.
As expected, Adolph was quite the handyman and enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their home projects, playing cards with friends, going to their cabin on Turtle Lake for fishing and relaxing, and traveling to and visiting with family and friends. Adolph will be remembered for his quick smile and fantastic sense of humor.
Adolph is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Janeene; seven children, Mike (Vicki) Miller, Bismarck, ND, Theresa "Terri" (Tim) Kelly, Oakes, ND, Dan (Donna) Miller, Denver, CO, Rob (Christy) Miller, Glyndon, MN, David (Denise) Miller, Owatonna, MN, Kathy (Ken) Grove, Moorhead, and Roxanne (Thane) Fliginger, Fargo; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, sister, Evelyn Krogen, Fargo, brother, Ed (Darlys) Miller, Detroit Lakes, MN, and sister,
Donna (Jim) Asselin, West Covina, CA; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
