Agnes Hogenson

September 8, 1904 — January 5, 2005

Agnes Mykleby was born September 8, 1904, to Ole and Kristine (Locken) Mykleby, in Polk County, near Winger, MN. Agnes was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
When Agnes was eight months of age, the family moved to White Earth, ND, where they homesteaded. They returned to the Winger area in 1914 and lived on a farm two miles west of Winger.
Agnes married Theodore Hogenson, in Fertile, MN, on June 11, 1931, and they continued to make their home on the farm. Ted died in 1943, and Agnes remained on the farm until 1950, when she moved to McIntosh, MN, where she worked at Sunset Home.
Agnes worked for the school in McIntosh for one year and then owned and operated her own restaurant from 1956 to 1958. She moved to Bathgate, ND, in 1958 and worked at the School for the Blind. In 1961, Agnes moved to Grand Forks, ND, where she continued to work for the School for the Blind.
She retired in 1969 and moved to Twin Valley, MN, in 1971. She lived there until 1983, when she moved to Moorhead, MN. With her family by her side, Agnes died Wednesday, January 5, 2005, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, at one hundred years of age.
Agnes is survived by her two sons, Gordon (Sonja), Halstad, MN, and Karsten (Ellen), Silver Bay, MN; ten grandchildren: James (Joy), Mark, Connie, Daniel (Jennifer), Philip (Karmell), Steven (Kathy) and Erika Hogenson, Kathy (Rory) Skramstad, Elisabeth (R
Visitation: one hour before the funeral.
Funeral: Saturday, January 8, 2005 - 2 PM

Interment: Faaberg Lutheran Church Cemetery
