Albert Mudgett

March 16, 1919 — September 27, 2014

Albert Gordon Mudgett was born March 16, 1919, in Mountain Iron, MN, to Thomas and Emma (Hansen) Mudgett.

Albert entered the US Army in July of 1942 and was honorably discharged in November of 1945. On Thanksgiving Day in 1946, he married Gladys K. Lindvall, and they made their home in Minneapolis, MN. Albert graduated with a degree in Industrial Education, from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Albert went on to teach Mechanical Drafting, Plastics, and many other assorted classes. He began at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL, and then Hibbing, MN, for several years. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1957, where he taught at Moorhead State University. Albert taught many students that went on to areas of manufacturing in the Red River Valley where they made a great impact on the economy.

Albert retired from teaching and they continued to make their home in Moorhead. Albert and Gladys divorced in 1978.

Albert was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and investing. His summers were spent in North Dakota and the winters in Florida.

Albert died peacefully at his home in Fargo, ND, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at ninety-five years of age.

He is survived by his son, Kent, Felton, MN; and a sister, Jean Badavinack, Centralia, WA. He was preceded in death by a son, Bret, on November 26, 2013, and his ex-wife, Gladys on April 18, 2012.

There will be a Gathering of Friends, beginning at 6 PM, on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
