Albin James Dahlgren, 93, Grand Rapids, MN, died peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids.
He was born October 7, 1920, in Adams, ND, to Fredrick and Pernille (Hilde) Dahlgren. Albin served in WWII as a Tech Sergeant. On May 22, 1954, he married Marian Kjelland, at Fargo, ND, and they made their home in Grand Forks, ND.
They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1956, where he worked as a television repairman. They moved to Silver Bay, MN, in 1963 where he was an electrician for Reserve Mining Company. Marian died February 7, 1996. After his retirement, Albin moved to Grand Rapids, MN, in 2000. He was an avid Minnesota Twins fan!
In addition to his wife, Albin was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, Palmer, and Myron; and his sister, Myrtle Nygaard.
Albin is survived by a son, James, Crystal, MN; two daughters, Karen (Chad) Haatvedt, Grand Rapids; and Alice (Mark) Thompson, Savage, MN; two granddaughters, Kacy (Matt) Nistler, and Raena Haatvedt; and a brother, John, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation for Albin will begin at 12 noon, followed by a funeral at 1 PM, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Burial, with military honors, will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
