Alfred P. Krahn, 83, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006, in Costa Mesa, CA, after a brief illness.
Alfred Peter Krahn was born to Peter and Katherine Krahn on October 7, 1923, near Langdon, ND. Alfred was a great American who loved his flag and country, serving in the US Army during WWII. He then attended Fargo (ND) Business College and worked for Midland Hospital Supply for 27 years.
On August 15, 1947, he married Dorothy Johnson. They made their home in Fargo until moving to Moorhead in 1955. Dorothy died on May 1, 2006, and Alfred moved to California to be closer to his daughter. Alfred enjoyed bowling, his cat, Shadow, and taking care of his lawn.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Joe) Vandrovec, Fountain Valley, CA; three grandsons, Travis, Brian, and Jason; two brothers, Elmer, San Jose, CA, and Harold (Maria), Glendale, AZ; and a sister, Bernice (Gordon) Zitzow, Moorhead. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve, in 1980.
Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church in memory of Alfred.
Memorial Service: Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 1:30 PM in Grace United Methodist Church, 1120 17th Street South, Moorhead.
Inurnment: Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
