Alice L. Babcock, 96, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Glyndon, MN, died Monday, January 15, 2007, in the Golden Living Center, Moorhead.
Alice Louise Haley was born November 10, 1910, to John and Margaret (Fitzgerald) Haley in Glyndon where she grew up and attended Glyndon School.
On December 1, 1928, Alice married Samuel Babcock in Dilworth and they made their home on a farm south of Glyndon. In 1969, they retired and moved into Glyndon. In their retirement they enjoyed traveling to visit family and just being together, tending to their home and garden.
On December 14, 1990, Samuel died and Alice continued to make her home in Glyndon for a period of time, until moving to Eventide Catered Living, Moorhead. In 2002, Alice became a resident of Moorhead HealthCare Center, now the Golden Living Center.
Alice was an excellent baker and sewer. She loved caring for her family and took pride in her home. Alice was also very strong in her Catholic faith and instilled this in her children.
Alice is survived by three daughters, Margaret (Lee) Taylor, Manhattan Beach, CA, Patricia A. Fuchs, Glyndon, MN, and Joan (Ron) Rochon, Marysville, WA; twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; and thirty-five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barbara Fuchs; a great-great-grandson, Dallas Taylor; seven brothers and sisters, Irene Tehle, Esther Hughes, Charlie, John, Jim, Frank and Dave Haley; her parents, John and Margare
Visitation: Thursday from 5 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM,
Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral Mass: Friday, January 19, 2007, at 1 PM,
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery,
Moorhead.
