Alice Peterson, 69, Hendrum, MN, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in the Halstad Living Center, Halstad, MN, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Alice Carolyn Loe was born July 19, 1937, in Fargo, ND, to Alfred C. and Margaret (Finke) Loe. She was baptized and confirmed at Kirkebo Lutheran Church in Perley, MN. Alice attended Middleton School located near the family farm between Perley and Georgetown, MN, where she was raised.
In the fall of 1950, she started attending Borup (MN) High School, where she was active in band, choir, girls' chorus, newspaper, and annual staff. In 1954, she transferred to Hendrum High School, graduating in the spring of 1955.
On April 23, 1960, she married Lyle Peterson of Hendrum at Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley.
On July 1, 1957, Alice began work at the Hendrum Bank, which is now Northwestern Bank. She also worked for 2 years at Ada National Bank. In 1974, Lyle and Alice purchased the grocery store in Hendrum, and Alice ran the store for 5 years until 1979. On Aug. 1, 1979, she was employed by what is now Norman County West School, where she worked until she retired on June 30, 1999.
Alice was clerk for the City of Hendrum for a number of years and also served as treasurer and financial secretary of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, for some time.
Alice is survived by her husband Lyle of 47 years; a daughter, Tara (Steve) Johnk, Moorhead; granddaughters, Ashley Johnk, Fargo, and Kendall Johnk, Moorhead; 1 brother, Robert (Margaret) Loe, Dilworth, MN; two sisters, Margaret (Gene) Brickman, Cotopaxi,

with a prayer service at 7 PM,
in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
