Allen D. Johnson, 74, Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004, in MeritCare, Fargo, ND.
Allen Duane Johnson was born May 16, 1930, to Clifford and Marie (Gulland) Johnson on a farm near Leonard, ND, where he grew up. He attended Helendale grade school and graduated from Leonard High School. In 1950, he graduated from Wahpeton (ND) State School of Science. Allen then joined the U.S. Army and was called to duty at Camp Rucker, AL.
In 1951, he married Janet Larson and they farmed near Doran, MN, until 1982. Allen most recently worked for Reardon Office Equipment Inc., Moorhead.
Allen was active in his church and the community. He was a long-time member of the Eagles Club, Fargo, and he enjoyed bowling.
Allen is survived by three children, Donovan (Jimmie), Breckenridge, MN, Doreen, St. Paul, MN, and Debora (Robert) Boyle, Prior Lake, MN; his mother Marie Johnson, West Fargo, ND; four brothers, Leon (Virginia), Fargo, Jerroll (Vivian), Enderlin, ND, Lyle (Betty) Kindred, ND, and Rollin (Jeanne), Leonard; a sister, Carol (Harlan) Johnson, Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Kelsey and Tara Johnson, Breckenridge, and Erin and Elliot Hodgson, St. Paul; and a special friend, Ardie Engel. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford.
Visitation: Thursday, December 9, 2004, 3 PM - 8 PM with prayer service at 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
Funeral Service: Friday, December 10, 2004, 3 PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead
Interment: Helendale Lutheran Church Cemetery, Leonard, ND
