Allen Fitzgerald, age 72, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Allen James Fitzgerald, the son of Harvey and Ann (Froelich) Fitzgerald, was born November 4, 1941, in Fargo. He grew up and received his education in Dilworth, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1959. Allen served his country in the US Air Force from 1961, until his honorable discharge in February of 1965.
On September 16, 1967, Allen married Glenna Faye Meyer in Dent, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Moorhead. Allen worked for the North Dakota Air National Guard in Fargo, until he retired in 1995.
Allen loved his family. He was a good husband, dad, and grandpa. The family spent many summers at their lake home on West McDonald Lake, near Dent. Glenna Faye and Allen enjoyed traveling, especially to Sanibel Island, Florida.
Allen is survived by his wife, Glenna Faye Fitzgerald, Moorhead; a daughter, Dawn (Jeff) Kukert, Kent, MN; a brother, Robert (Fran) Fitzgerald, Vergas, MN; and three grandchildren, Nikolas, Lucas and Katelyn Kukert.
Visitation for Allen is Sunday, 4 PM until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 5 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His funeral is Monday, June 23, 2014, at 1 PM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
He will be buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Dent.
