Alvin Geiszler

Alvin B. Geiszler, age 81, of Moorhead, MN died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Moorhead Health Care Center, Moorhead, MN.
Alvin Benjamin Geiszler was born in Spring Prairie Township, Clay County, MN to Gottlieb and Marguerita (Somerer) Geiszler. He attended rural school near Glyndon, MN and worked on the family farm. As a young man he enjoyed playing the accordion and violin.
On June 9, 1956, he was married to Clara Leonhardt in Glyndon. They lived in Moorhead since that time and became the parents of five children. Besides farming, Alvin worked at the theater, and drove for Booth Fisheries, Moorhead Transit, and Doyle Cab. Clara and Alvin enjoyed many summers at Buffalo Lake. Throughout his life, Alvin enjoyed wood working, gardening, bird feeding, and puzzles.
Clara died on September 7, 2003. Since an accident several years ago, Alvin's health has been greatly affected. He had also been a cancer patient for several years. For the last month, Alvin had been a resident of Moorhead Health Care Center.
He is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters, Dennis (Janet) Geiszler of Moorhead, Shirley O'Hearn of LaCrosse, WI, Ken Geiszler of West Fargo, ND, Cindy (Mark) Charlton and Janet (Mike) Mosbrucker both of Moorhead; 8 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Edwin (Vange) Geiszler, Loren (Helen) Geiszler, Ramon (Darby) Geiszler all of Moorhead, Dorothy (Leland) Delger of Fargo, Clara Wiseman of Peoria, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Ann Geiszler of Moorhead.
He was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters, Ray Geiszler, Elsie Shultz, and Hulda Toedler.
VISITATION: Friday, September 29, 2006 from 4 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 10:30 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

INTERMENT: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
