Alyce E. Peterson, age 82, Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died in Fort Myers on October 23, 2006. A funeral and burial where held in Florida, at the time of her death.
Alyce Pederson was born March 30, 1924 in Bejou, MN. She graduated from Gary (MN) High School and Moorhead State University, where she received her teaching certificate.
In June of 1943, Alyce married Alton Peterson in Columbus, MO. Alyce lived in Argyle, MN, where she taught school, while Alton served in the US Army Air Corps, as a pilot in India and China.
In 1946, Alyce and Alton made their home in Detroit Lakes, MN, where the family owned and operated a Nash car dealership. In 1962, the family moved to Moorhead, where the family owned and operated Francis Peterson Inc. After retirement, the couple moved to Fort Myers, and they returned to Moorhead in the summers.
Alyce was a beloved wife for 63 years, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Alton, Fort Myers; a daughter, Becky (John) Weston, Fort Myers; two sons, Barry (Cheryl) Peterson, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Ron (Sheryl) Peterson, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren, Erica, Ryan, Eric, Carrie, Nathan, Todd, Kirsten, Damon, and Cristen; four great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Joshua, Caleb, and Corbin; and brothers, Palmer and Norris Pederson, both Mahnomen, MN.
Alyce was preceded in death by her parents, Nils and Teckla Pederson, a brother, Edmond, and two sisters-in-law, Marlys Lester and Valerie Shultz.
