Andrew Hanson

Andrew H. Hanson, 77, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Innovis Health in Fargo, ND.
Andrew H. Hanson, son of Helmer and Oline (Wibe) Hanson, was born March 7, 1929, at rural Pelican Rapids, MN. He grew up in the Pelican Rapids area and received his education there and graduated from high school in Pelican Rapids.
Andrew served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He served overseas in Germany. After his discharge, he returned to Pelican Rapids, where he owned and operated a Standard Oil service station in the 1960s. Andrew later went to work for the Minnesota Highway Department, where he worked for 26 years. Andrew served as a member of the Pelican Rapids Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
On August 20, 1976, Andrew was united in marriage to Shirley Koester Adams in Glyndon, MN, where they made their home. In 1993, they moved to Moorhead, MN. In 1991, Andrew retired from the highway department, and started to work part-time for the Fargo Parking Service.
Andrew was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, Glyndon Lutheran Church in Glyndon, and Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead, where he enjoyed attending the men's Bible study group.


Andrew was an avid sports fan, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, golfing, hunting, and visiting people.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Shirley, Moorhead; four stepchildren, Colleen (Alan) Fuller, Williston, ND, David (Donna) Adams, Medora, ND, Shelly Weishoff, Ray, ND, and Holly (Chaney) Stotts, Caldwell, Idaho; a brother, Orville (Gail) Hanson, Moorhead;
Visitation: Sunday, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and one hour before the funeral, at the church.

Funeral service: Monday, March 13, 2006, at 2:00 PM. Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, Minnesota

Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN
