Anita Schulz, age 78, Fargo, ND, formerly of Dilworth, MN, died Friday, March 30, 2013, in Bethany on University, Fargo.
Anita Siemer, daughter of Georg and Henni (Timmerman) Siemer, was born in Delmenhorst, Germany on August 25, 1934. She grew up and received her education in Ganderkessee, Germany. She was married there to Benno Schulz on April 28, 1956. Following their marriage, they immigrated to Gackle, ND, and short after moved to Fargo. In 1960, the family moved to Dilworth, MN.
Anita worked many years as a certified nursing assistant, first at St. John's Hospital, and later for Bethany Homes, both Fargo. She retired in 2008. Anita enjoyed playing cards and solving German crossword puzzles. She was a member of an FM area, "Homemaker's Club" and a German "Coffee" Club. She shared herself by crocheting afghans for family and friends, and being "Omi" (an affectionate German term for grandma) to many young children in Deb Schulz's daycare center.
In 2011, Anita moved to Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth. In May of 2012, she became a resident of Bethany on University in Fargo.
Anita is survived by her son, Ingo (Debra) Schulz, Dilworth; a sister, Linda (Gerald) Petermann, Ganderkessee, Germany; grandchildren, Renee (Franklin III) Charon, Grand Forks, ND, and Tyson Schulz, also Grand Forks; and two great-grandchildren, Landon Charon and Franklin Charon IV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benno, who died in 1987; and her parents.
Visitation: Wednesday, 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral: Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 11 AM in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
