Ann C. Bettenhausen

Ann C. Bettenhausen, 91, Fargo, ND, died Monday, August 1, 2016, in Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo.

Annetta Christina Ruff was born in Gackle, ND, on August 14, 1924. She grew up in Gackle and in Jamestown, ND, where she graduated from high school and met Lloyd "Bud" Sahr.
On September 16, 1944, Ann was married to Bud, in Alameda, CA, while Bud served in the US Navy. After their marriage, Ann lived in West Fargo, ND.

When Bud was discharged from the navy following the end of the war, they made their home in Jamestown, where they raised their five children. They operated a family trucking business, where Ann did the bookwork and drove truck. Later she managed the family owned laundromat and drycleaner. Lloyd "Bud" Sahr died in January of 1980.

In 1982, Ann married Warren Bettenhausen Sr. They also lived in Jamestown. For 23 years after retirement, they volunteered every winter with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Texas and in Arizona. In 2005, they moved to Fargo, where they volunteered at the ARC store. She had a deep abiding faith in Jesus Christ.

In 2015, Ann became a resident of Elim Rehab and Care Center in Fargo. Her husband, Warren, died on January 27, 2016. In addition to both her husbands, Bud and Warren, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, four brothers, and a grandson.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Harlan) Schwartz Pratt, West Fargo; four sons, James (Tammy) Sahr, Pittsburgh, KS, Russell (Marlene) Sahr, Horace, ND, Thomas (JaWayne) Sahr, Dickinson, ND, and Steven (Sheila) Sahr, Leonard, ND; five stepsons, Jerry, Ron, Bruce, Warren Jr. and Bob Bettenhausen; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Ann will be Thursday, 6 PM to 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN. Funeral Service is Friday, August 5, 2016, at 11 AM, in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo. Burial will be at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
