Anna L. Simmons, 96, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, September 19, 2009, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Anna Louise Moseley was born May 14, 1913, to Matthew and Mary Louise (Creech) Moseley in Ennis, TX. She graduated from high school in Ennis and went on to attend Business College in Dallas, TX.
On November 29, 1934, Anna married Ernest Lee Simmons in Ennis where they made their home. They owned and operated Simmons Electric and Radio Shop until 1953, when they moved to Colorado Springs, CO. In July of 1986, they moved to Moorhead to be near their son.
In 1990, they became residents at Eventide Lutheran Home. Ernest died on June 17, 1992 and Anna continued to make her home at Eventide where she was an active volunteer at the bank and the post office, delivering the mail for ten years. She loved participating in activities at Eventide even serving as Mayor for a year. Anna loved playing the piano and enjoyed crocheting, especially afghans.
She is survived by a son, the Rev. Dr. Ernest (Marti) Simmons; two grandchildren, Scott and Leah Simmons; a niece, Marilyn (Schultz) Ponce; and a nephew, Steven Schultz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Moseley; and one sister, Elizabeth Schultz.
