AnnaMarie Kjenstad

AnnaMarie Jones was born May 6, 1928, to Charlie and Inga (Haukom) Jones, on a farm north of Devils Lake, ND. The family moved to a farm east of Southam, ND, when she was three months of age. In April of 1940, they moved to a farm east of Thief River Falls, MN.

AnnaMarie was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in May of 1946. She worked for Taxeraas Implement Company from 1946 to 1956, as parts manager, and later as office manager. AnnaMarie moved to Fargo, ND, in December of 1956, where she worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad, as a clerk, until July of 1958.

AnnaMarie was united in marriage to Donald O. Kjenstad on July 26, 1958, at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. They made their home in Fargo where she worked as an appointment caller for American Republic Insurance for ten years. She was a representative for Avon for fifteen years and also volunteered many hours at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, after she retired.

AnnaMarie felt her most important job of all was to be a good partner to her husband, a good mother and grandmother to her family.

AnnaMarie died Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home in Fargo, under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley, at eighty-five years of age.

AnnaMarie is survived by her daughter, Karen Ann (Charlie) Dame, Fargo; three sons, Donald "Tom" (Diane Struphar) Kjenstad, Alpharetta, GA, James Kjenstad, Crescent City, CA, and Robert Kjenstad, Fargo; four grandchildren, Stefanie, Kris, Courteney, and Michael; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kaedan; and one great-great-granddaughter, Cassadee; sister, Jeanette Davis, Kent, WA.

Memorials are preferred to be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Visitation for AnnaMarie will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Friday, March 14, 2014, at 2 PM, in First Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
