Anne P. Windus

Anne Patrice Windus, 83, of Moorhead, MN, died on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Bethany Retirement Living on University, Fargo, ND.
Anne, the daughter of W. Richard and Carmen (Haskins) Dirlam, was born March 2, 1935, in Elkhart, IN. The family moved to Minneapolis, MN, where Anne received her schooling at the school for the Basilica of St. Mary.
On September 13, 1953, Anne married Patrick G. Windus in Minneapolis where they lived until 1967, when they moved to Moorhead. Anne worked for Kvamme Travel for many years and later for Easter Seals of North Dakota. Anne was an avid bowler and cardplayer. She also loved spending time with her family, traveling, going out to lunch with friends, and get togethers with the "Ya Ya Sisters". She was active in her church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Anne and Pat made their home in South Moorhead on Rivershore Drive where they lived for over 30 years. Anne was a dedicated caregiver for Pat until he died in 2001. Anne continued to reside in South Moorhead in Village Green and moved to Crossings at Waters Edge Apartments in 2014. She became a resident of Bethany on University, in mid-May of this year.
Besides her husband, Anne was preceded in death by her son, James, who died in 2015; and her parents. She is survived by three sons, Patrick Windus, Apple Valley, MN, Christopher (Diane Huotari) Windus, Fort Worth, TX, George (Joan) Windus, Fargo; and her daughter-in-law, Tina Windus, Sabin, MN; a brother, James (Barbara) Dirlam, Bloomington, MN; her eight grandchildren, Madison, Bree, Jack, Nate, Claire, Stephanie, Brooke, and Taylor.
Visitation for Anne will be Sunday, from 2 PM until 4 PM, with a prayer service at 3:30 PM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Her funeral mass will be Monday, June 11, 2018, at 11 AM, also at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation in Anne's name.
