April Kay Richards, 61, rural Georgetown, MN, was called home by the Lord to be with her beloved husband on Friday, March 22, 2013, at her home, of natural causes.
April Kay Kreps, daughter of William and Jean (Gaylord) Kreps, was born September 27, 1951, in Fargo, ND. She grew up and received her education in the Moorhead area, where she graduated from Moorhead High School in 1969.
On January 17, 1970, April married Clayton Richards in Fargo. They lived in Moorhead prior to moving to the Georgetown area. April was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal service, delivering to the area north of Moorhead.
She and Clayton enjoyed vacations in Jamaica. In February of 2009, they renewed their marriage vows, while in Jamaica. Clayton died in a farm accident on April 3, 2010.
April is survived by three daughters, Tanya Richards, Dilworth, MN, Nichoel Richards, Burnsville, MN, and Amanda Richards, St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Marshall and Alexandra Richards and Isabella Skramstad; a great-grandchild, Rylee Heim-Richards; her mother, Jean Kreps, Moorhead; sisters, Deborah (Eugene) Elhard, Ellendale, ND, and Jewell Jackson, West Fargo, ND; a brother, Mitchell Kreps, Fargo; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Clayton, she was preceded in death by her father, William; and two grandchildren, Angela Richards and Jason Richards-Nylander.
Visitation: Monday, 5:30 PM to 7 PM, with prayer service at 7 PM, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Funeral service: Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo
