Arlene Janet Wilson was born May 29, 1931, in Moorhead, MN, to Harry and Wilma (Kangas) Wilson. Arlene was raised in Moorhead where she graduated from high school in 1949.
Arlene married Merle Correll on April 28, 1950, in Moorhead, where they made their home. They built a home in Oakport Township in 1960, where they raised their family. They moved to Dilworth, MN, in 2004.
Besides being a wife, homemaker and mother, Arlene did the bookkeeping for the family business. In 1969, she went to work part time at the NDSU Food Service department. She worked there for twenty-four years, until she retired as accountant for the Dining Services.
Since retirement, Arlene did volunteer work for the Arthritis Association, the American Cancer Society and Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she served as church treasurer for just over four years. She had also been active with Children's Harbor School in Moorhead.
Arlene loved to read, do crossword puzzles, crochet, play computer games and golf. She served as president, then treasurer, for the Hawley Ladies Golf Club. Her greatest love was her husband and family. Holidays were wonderful when all gathered at their home. She also had many dear friends, and enjoyed many summers at Lee Lake Campground, near Hawley.
