Arlene Rehder

Arlene Katherine Rehder, 83, Moorhead, MN, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, surrounded by her family at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Arlene Katherine Halvorson was born April 22, 1934, to Martin and Christella (Hilde) Halvorson in Clay County, and was the youngest of three children. She attended Norman County country school as a child and graduated from Borup (MN) High School. Upon graduating high school, Arlene worked at Gamble-Skogmo in Moorhead and at Manchester Biscuit Company in Fargo, ND.

Arlene was married to Gerald "Jerry" Rehder of Felton, MN, at Fort Lewis, WA, on June 27,1953.

Arlene worked as a CNA at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN, and retired after more than thirty years. She was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran church of Felton where she participated in circle and ladies aide.

Arlene's favorite pastimes included cooking and baking (she always had goodies for visitors), sewing and crafts. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. She was a proud Norwegian and loved her lefse, lutefisk, rommegrot and potato dumplings, which she was always willing to share. She enjoyed water aerobics and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings as well as local sports.

She is survived by her five children, Loni (Curt) Boe, Felton, Mitch Rehder, Moorhead, Marty (Tammy) Rehder, Fargo, Lisa (Kent) Brandt, Fargo, and Lynette (Erik) Larson, Fargo; and a brother, Orlin (Nancy) Halvorson, Moorhead. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents; one sister, Muriel Burch; and an infant brother, Curtis Halvorson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

The memorial service will be Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 11 AM, in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton.

Burial will be in Felton Cemetery.
