Arlos Spieker Mattson

Arlos C. Spieker Mattson, age 87, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Arlos Carol Olson was born in rural Osakis, MN, on September 1, 1927. She grew up and received her education in the Osakis area.
On November 5, 1946, Arlos was married to Ambrose Spieker, in Bell River, MN. In 1947, they moved to Fargo, and in 1960, to Moorhead. Ambrose died on July 31, 1981.
On January 2, 1988, Arlos married Karl Mattson in Moorhead, where they made their home. Karl died on March 17, 2012.
Arlos worked at Concordia College, Moorhead City Cab, and St. Ansgar Hospital, all Moorhead. She made porcelain dolls, sewed, crocheted and was an awesome cook. She enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee and doing puzzles. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and was a life member of the Moorhead VFW Auxiliary.
Arlos is survived by her children, Douglas (Cher) Spieker, Havana, ND, Derald Spieker, Moorhead, Donald Spieker, also Moorhead, Debra (Kim) Kinslow, Ogema, MN, Denise (Richard) Eskildsen, Moorhead, and Diane (Michael) Rix, Moorhead; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gwen Jesinoski, Marlou Tingle, Doreen Lentz, Wanda (Orville) Thun, Judy Alcott, Bonnie Gibson, and Tootie Olson; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; a daughter-in-law, Georgia; three grandsons; two brothers; and her parents.
Visitation is Friday, 4 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral Mass is Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
