Arnie Raymond Buck moved to his permanent home address, heaven, to be with his Lord and Savior on December 10, 2007.
Arnie was born in Logan County, near Napoleon, ND, on July 11, 1930, to Alexander and Lydia (Roth) Buck. He attended rural schools and helped his dad on the farm until 1945 when the family moved to Jamestown, ND. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1949 and worked for Coca Cola Company. He joined the 164th Infantry National Guard Unit in 1948 and was activated in January 1951. He did his training at Camp Rucker, AL.
Arnie married the love of his life Lenora Kirschenmann on July 6, 1951, at Jamestown, ND. After their marriage he was sent to Korea for combat duty and returned home in May of 1952. After his discharge from service, he worked for Gamble Robinson until he decided to attend Dakota Business College in Fargo. After graduation, he worked for the State of ND at Workmen's Comp, tried Food Sales and then in 1969 he became the Business Manager & Accountant for KVLY (KTHI) TV. In 1993 he retired and then had the privilege to enjoy his second love of driving cars for Lunde, Corwin, Luther Ford, GM and Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
Arnie enjoyed every minute he was able to spend with his family, was a loving father and husband. He enjoyed reading, and collecting toy farm equipment. He loved his church family, Bethel Free, and most of all he loved his Lord and Savior.
Arnie is survived by his wife, Lenora; one daughter, Cheryl (Kent) Holmberg, Hillsboro, ND; one son, Randy (Pam), Cedar Rapids, IA; four grandsons, Scott (Kimberly) Holmberg, Marion, IA; Brian Holmberg, Roseville, MN; Alex Buck, Iowa State, Ames, IA, and Keith Buck, Cedar Rapids; three great-grandchildren, Erin, Adam and Nate Holmberg, Marion; one brother, Melvin (Edna), Moorhead, MN; four sisters, Lorraine Wolff, Monticello, MN; Adeline Tahran, Stockton, CA; Rita Herr, Spring Lake Park, MN, and Clara Staiger, Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.
Arnie's infectious smile, sense of humor, and his love for life will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Bethel Free Church.
Visitation: Thursday, 4 PM to 6 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Friday, December 14, 2007, at 2 PM in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
