Arnold Anderson

Arnold Harvey Anderson was born January 29, 1912, in Barton, ND, to George and Mary (Johnson) Anderson. Arnold grew up and lived in the Barton/Willow City, ND, area for most of his life.

Arnold received an eighth grade education and then was needed on the farm. He managed the farm and lived with his mother and brother, Leonard, after his father passed away. Arnold was united in marriage to Ann Kleven on June 12, 1952, and they made their home in Willow City. In 1955, Patty Kay was born to them. After they retired, they spend the winter months in Mesa, AZ, for twenty-five years. They then moved to Fargo, ND, about fourteen years ago to be closer to family.

Arnold has been a member of Grace Lutheran Brethren church in Bottineau, ND, since 1962. He served as a trustee and elder there for eighteen years and led adult Sunday school classes. He also served several committees in the community.

He and Anne enjoyed entertaining in their home, whether sharing a meal or playing games with friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed singing in a men's chorus. He loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren. His relationship with the Lord was foremost in his life. Arnold's Christlike spirit, strength and patience were so evident.

Arnold died Sunday, September 4, 2016, in Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo, at 104 years of age.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Patty Linson, Fargo; two grandchildren, Paul (Kristin) Linson, Maple Grove, MN, and Jennifer (Mathew) Finley, Fargo; five great-grandchildren, Anabelle and Violet Linson, and Thatcher, Liam and McKenna Finley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann; son-in-law, Larry Linson; and siblings, Alice (Vernon) Carlson, Thelma (Marlowe) Martinson, Henry (Clara) Anderson, and Leonard Anderson.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 5 - 7 PM, in Triumph (West) Lutheran Brethren Church, West Fargo, ND.

His funeral will be Friday, September 9, 2016, at 2 PM, in the church.

Burial will be Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 12 noon, in Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau, ND.
