Arnold E. Landa, 76, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, October 22, 2010, in the Golden Living Center, Moorhead.
Arnold Emil Landa was born on the family farm near Werner, ND, to Thor and Olga (Mjolhus) Landa. Around the age of 8, the family moved to a farm near Hitterdal, MN, then Hawley, MN, where he attended school. Arnold worked as a farm laborer until enlisting in the Navy in 1951. Upon his honorable discharge in 1954, he returned to the Hawley area where he continued to work as a farm laborer and in construction. He then began working for the city of Moorhead.
On October 14, 1961, Arnold married Elaine Stellmach in Fargo and they made their home in Moorhead. Arnold continued to work for the city of Moorhead until his retirement in 1992.
Arnold enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the American Legion and VFW.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Elaine, Moorhead; son, Keith and daughter, Karen (Mark) Jenkins, both of Moorhead; two grandsons, Eric (Kelle Franchuk) Jenkins and Connor Jenkins; a great-grandchild on the way; three siblings, Alice Most, Darvin (Arlene) Landa, and Robert (Lois) Landa; a sister-in-law, Betty Landa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy.
