Arthur Alvin Adsero, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.
Arthur was born July 10, 1919, in Hawley, MN, the youngest son of Magnus and Gina Adsero. Art grew up near Wild Rice (ND) where he also attended school. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945 as airmen machinist mate second class CASU-12. After his service, he went to work as an electrician at Reger Electric in Fargo for thirty-four years. He met his bride, Elaine Poss, while at Reger's and they were married on June 18, 1950. They were blessed with seven children.
Arthur held many leadership positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He devoted many years of service as the branch president and counselor in the Dakota District Presidency. He supported two of his children on church missions, one in Peru and one in Japan. He and Elaine also served an eighteen month mission in the Jordan River Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Arthur was self-taught and highly skilled. He was filled with integrity, loved hard work, was trustworthy, kind, helpful, and could fix anything. Arthur carefully researched his Norwegian ancestry for generations to the 1500's.
Art is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons and daughters, Richard (Laila), Marlys (Tom) Vaughan, Judy (Steve) Ewing, James, Wayne (Mary), Janice (John) Daly and Ann (Rick) Blotsky; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Arthur is preceded in death by
Visitation: Monday, from 7 - 9 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and Tuesday, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, at the church.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 11 AM, in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2502 17th Avenue South, Fargo, ND.
