Arthur B. Abrahamsen, 89, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, in Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa, AZ.
Arthur Bernard Abrahamsen, the son of Leif Arthur and Bernice (Potter) Abrahamsen was born April 12, 1925, in Fargo, ND. He grew up in the Kathryn, ND, area where he graduated from high school in 1943.
On August 17, 1947, Art was married to Ruth Storhoff in rural Nome, ND. They made their home in Valley City, ND, and then Moorhead, and raised two children, Vicki and Jim. Ruth died in July 1993.
Art worked as a sales representative for Enesco Corporation. He retired in 1990. After retirement he worked for Camelot Cleaners for many years.
Art later married Carol Pederson of Grafton, ND, on July 17, 1999, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead. They lived in Moorhead in the summers and Mesa in the winters.
Art was a member of the Good Shepherd Helping Hands. He enjoyed traveling and fishing and spending time at their lake place on Long Lake near Detroit Lakes, MN.
Art is survived by his wife, Carol Abrahamsen, Moorhead; a son, Jim (Kerry) Abrahamsen, Winter Springs, FL; a daughter Vicki (Phil) Dunham, Great Falls, MT; two stepdaughters, Coral (John) Donnelly, Plymouth, MN, and Cathy (Dr. Daniel) Axvig, Bismarck, ND; four grandchildren, Bryn Dunham, Erin (Paul) Brooks, Christopher and Nicholas Abrahamsen; seven step-grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 1 PM, Sunday, April 12, 2015, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
