Arthur David Card, age 77, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, in Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead.
Arthur David Card was born on March 13, 1935, to Ora and Norma (Towle) Card, in International Falls, MN. Art graduated in 1953 from Greenway High School, Coleraine, MN. He served three years in the US Marines.
Arthur married Yvonne Jore on August 6, 1960, in Grand Rapids, MN. After his marriage to Yvonne, he attended Itasca Community College, Coleraine, for two years. Art worked at Mid America Steel for 17 years. He then went to work for Vincent Metal Goods of Minneapolis, MN, where he retired in 1998.
Art was a family man, living his life for their education, health and happiness. In the fall, he loved to hunt and looked forward to spending that special time with his sons, brothers, brothers-in-law, and nephews. He couldn't wait for summer to come and the family camping trips could be planned with loads of laughs and wonderful memories. When he wasn't planning trips he was going to basketball, football, volleyball, softball, soccer, and track meets, coaching and watching his kids and grandkids grow up and make him the proudest dad and grandpa.
Art leaves his wife of 52 years, Yvonne; six children, Kevin (Andrea) Card, Kelly (Lee) Baird, Kristen (Jeffery) Schelinder, Kyle (Charlene) Card, Kari Bolme (fiancé, Tim Houser), and Kent Card; twelve grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, Kaleb and Cody Card, Meghan, Mayson and Mari Bolme, Rian and Ariana Blacksmith, Kristine (Jeff) Owata, Brian Barker and Kari Husen; along with three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan and Lucas Owata. He also leaves seven brothers and five sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; two sisters, Frances and Marjorie; and son-in-law, Matt Bolme.
A Gathering of Friends will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The Memorial Service will be Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 11 AM, in The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead.
Inurnment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
