Arvilla M. Hanson

Arvilla M. Hanson, 86, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in Bethany on University, Fargo, ND, surrounded by family.
Arvilla was born on April 16, 1935, to the parents of Ernest and Lena (Weigelt) Schwarzrock, in Frazee, MN. Arvilla grew up in Frazee, where she helped on the family farm. Later in life she married and lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and making baby quilts. She loved baking and was famous for her homemade bread, buns, and caramel rolls. Arvilla loved having family around, spoiling her grandkids, and teaching them how to cook and bake.
Arvilla is survived by her daughter, Pamella (Steven) Quiggle; grandchildren, Justen (Lindsey), Billy (Dusty), Steven Jr. (Jackie), Matthew (Eliza), Dalton Cossette, and Cassie (Tom); nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings Erma (Wallace) Stephenson, Alivin (Marlys) Schwarzrock, LaVerna (Don) Jepson, Lena (Clarence) Golden; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvis Hanson; parents, Ernest and Lena; children, Susan Cossette, Jeff (Lori) Riebe, and Michael Riebe; siblings, Ernest Schwarzrock, Edward (Donna) Schwarzrock, and Lorraine (Bob) Nelson.
Arvilla's memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 10 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, in the spring.
