Athena Briggs

Athena LaRae Briggs, the daughter of Virlyn and Delores (Krueger) Briggs, was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 1, 1964. She received her education in Fargo Public Schools and attended and later graduated from Dilworth Public Schools in Dilworth, MN.


On March 22, 1986, she was united in marriage to Keith A. Briggs at Golden Ridge Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. They made their home in the Fargo-Moorhead area and raised their family of two children. Throughout her life, Tina has enjoyed children and provided day care in her home for many years.


For nearly her entire life, Tina enjoyed being at the lake where she could fish and enjoy the outdoors. She loved to read, do cross-word puzzles, and make various craft projects. For many years, Tina has undergone many treatments and surgeries for health problems. In spite of those difficulties, she remained outgoing and happy and was always a person who could easily make friends. She was also a fan of cartoons and medical t.v. programs.


On Tuesday morning, June 26th, Tina died at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, some 3 weeks after her 43rd birthday.


Her family includes: her husband, Keith of Moorhead; two children, Samantha Briggs and Keith Briggs Jr. both of Moorhead; 3 grandchildren; her parents, Virlyn (Delores) Strander of Pelican Rapids, MN; and a brother, Dervin Strander of McKinney, TX.

Visitation is Friday from 3 - 6 PM in Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead.
The Funeral will be on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
