Audrey Joy Johnson

Audrey Joy Johnson, 80, Moorhead, MN, passed away Friday morning, June 16, 2017, at Elim Rehab and Care Center in Fargo, ND. She was under the care of Elim staff and Hospice of the Red River Valley, with her loving children by her side.

Audrey was born May 1, 1937, at home in Averill, MN, to Kenneth and Cora (Sorenson) Osmundson. Audrey grew up in Averill and Moorhead with four other sisters, JoAnn, Karen, Carol, and Kathy. In 1955, she graduated from Moorhead High School. Audrey married Marlin Duane Johnson on June 2, 1956, in Moorhead, where they made their home. She was employed by Montgomery Wards, St. Ansgar Hospital, Bergstrom & Crowe, and Moorhead Plumbing & Heating, where she retired in 2007.

Audrey is survived by her four children, Barry (Denice) of Zimmerman, MN, Corene (Carmen) Jacklitch, Clifton, and Rochelle (Randy) Dale, all of Moorhead; ten grandchildren, Logan (Amanda), Ramsey, MN, and Bailey Johnson, Zimmerman, Reyna Jacklitch, Fargo, and Reece Jacklitch, Minneapolis, MN, Maleah (Devon) Brakke, and Brett Johnson, both of Moorhead, Heather, and Arianna Johnson, both of Barnesville, MN, Zachery (Jenna) Dale, Spanaway, WA, and Brock Dale, Moorhead; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Finnmore Dale, Spanaway; two sisters, Carol (Lloyd) Heller of West Fargo, ND, and Kathy Anderson of Moorhead; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (Merlin) Lindstrom, Dewey, OK, Kevin (Anne) Engen, Arvada, CO, Carla Engen, Kindred, ND, Gordon Engen, Davenport, ND, Susan (Deb) Engen, Fargo, Steven Lewis, Barnesville, Nancy (Greg) Lewis-Spear, Ellendale, ND, Kent (Heidi) Sapp, Santa Rosa, CA, Angela (Nasir) Bruer-Balouch, Fargo, Gena (Michael) Syverson, Fargo, and Rachel (Randy) Knutson, Moorhead.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Cora Osmundson; husband, Marlin D. Johnson; sisters, JoAnn Engen, and Karen Lewis; brothers-in-law, Joseph Engen, Gary Anderson, and Al Lewis; and nephew, Jason Anderson.

Graveside Memorial Service: Friday, June 23, 2017, 2:00 PM, at Scandia Cemetery in Averill, MN.

Directions from Moorhead: North on Highway 75, turn right (east) at County Road 26, then turn left (north) onto 120th St N, proceed to the cemetery approximately two miles.

Fellowship and a sharing of your favorite memories with refreshments, will follow the service at Scandia Lutheran Church in Averill, 8216 120th St. North, Glyndon, MN. Located just south of the cemetery on 120 St N..

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held within Scandia Church.
