Audrey LaVonne Jankowski was born June 30, 1939, in Enderlin, ND, to George and Olive Jankowski. She graduated from Enderlin High School in 1957.
Audrey was united in marriage to the love of her life, Chris Wegerle, on November 29, 1958, in Enderlin. After living in Lisbon, ND, they relocated to Devils Lake, ND, in 1964. She was employed by J.C. Penney in Devils Lake for 15 years.
Audrey and Chris moved to Fargo, ND, in October of 2010, to be closer to family. Audrey enjoyed precious story time and snuggling with her grandchildren, Brady and Chantelle. She loved to laugh and reminisce with family members. Creativity and talent flowed through her kitchen, and Audrey's homemade pies were favorites of her husband and many others. A self-taught pianist, she entertained young and old with a multitude of compositions. Remembered as beautiful, selfless, strong, and giving, she will forever remain in our hearts. Audrey always welcomed you into her home with open arms; she now has been welcomed into God's home. Audrey passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Chris, Moorhead; daughter, Jamie (Greg) Schmidt; grandchildren, Brady and Chantelle Schmidt; three sisters, Joan Bratlie, Jeanette (Harold) Froemke, and Nita (Larry) Kitchen, all of Lisbon; and two brothers, Jerome (Lana) Jankowski, Nome, ND, and Jim (Paulette) Jankowski, Enderlin; sister-in-law, Pat McLaughlin, Bowman, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Olive; and a brother, George Jankowski Jr.
A Celebration Service will be Friday, May 13, 2011, at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
