Bella Gall, age 89, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Bella Theresa Gilbertson, the daughter of Theodore and Bessie (Haugrud) Gilbertson, was born in Pelican Rapids, MN, on March 30, 1921. She grew up and received her education in Pelican Rapids, where she graduated from high school in 1938. She attended and graduated from Moorhead (MN) State Teacher's College in 1940, and taught school in Ottertail County and Clay County, both Minnesota.
On July 6, 1947, Bella was united in marriage to Leo Gall, at Pelican Rapids. They lived in Wishek, ND, and later in Pelican Rapids, where she taught school. In 1952, they moved to Moorhead. Bella taught at the Oak Mound School, north of Moorhead until 1956. In her spare time, Bella was very involved with the local Republican party, and was an active volunteer for the local blood bank. In 2008, she and Leo moved to Eventide-Linden Tree Circle.
Bella is survived by her husband, Leo, Moorhead; son, Michael (Judy) Gall, Coon Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Anne and Adam Gall; and great-grandson, Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral.
Funeral service: Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at 1 PM, First Congregational-United Church of Christ, 406 8th Street South, Moorhead.
