Bernadette E. Paschke, age 84, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died at her home in Dilworth, MN, on Sunday, September 18, 2011, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Bernadette Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Hubert and Magdalena (Speldrich) Miller, was born November 21, 1926, in Mahnomen, MN. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Dilworth, where she grew up and received her education.

On October 2, 1948, Bernadette was married to Arnold Paschke in Dilworth. They made their home in Moorhead. Bernadette worked as a sales clerk at a couple of local stores, but her calling was as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was fully invested in her family. Of the many household duties, Bernadette truly enjoyed caring for her flowers.

Her husband, Arnold, died in May of 2008. Bernadette and her son, Ronald moved to Dilworth in 2010.

She is survived by seven children: Jennifer (Allen) Zummach, Dent, MN, Steven (Caron) Paschke, St. Cloud, MN, Corinne (Wayne) Lien, Moorhead, Thomas (Debbi) Paschke, Moorhead, Renee (Mike) Bernier, Fargo, ND, David (Kathy) Paschke, Riverside, CA, and Ronald Paschke, Dilworth; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leona Draack

Visitation: Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 601 15th Avenue North, Moorhead.

Funeral Mass: Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at 11 AM, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
