Bernice Agnes Brazel was born September 20, 1915, in Glenwood, MN, to Courtiney and Mathilda Brazel. The family moved to Enderlin, ND, in 1923, where she was raised and graduated from high school.
The family moved to Valley City, ND, in 1934, and she attended Valley City State College for two years. She worked at various jobs during that time. Bernice moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1938, when she was transferred to Fairmont Foods Company. She worked as a bookkeeper for thirty-nine years until she retired in 1977.
Bernice was united in marriage to Alfred Legler on September 23, 1952, in South Dakota, and they made their home in Moorhead. Alfred preceded her in death on April 19, 1993. Bernice continued to make her home in Moorhead, until moving to Maple Grove, MN, in 2002.
Bernice died Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011, in a Robbinsdale, MN, hospital, at ninety-five years of age.
She is survived by her son, Lance (Fran) Legler, Maple Grove, MN; a daughter, Lucille Bjordahl, Moorhead; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation for Bernice will be Thursday, April 28, 2011, from 10 - 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Thursday at 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
