Bernie Oral Lindrud was born August 18, 1919, in Almora, MN, to Jon and Emma Lindrud. He was the youngest of five siblings. Bernie and his siblings owned and operated Lindrud's variety stores in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
In 1946, Bernie was united in marriage to Beverly Markel. They resided in Madison, MN, until 1966, when they moved to Moorhead, MN, to raise their two children. After retirement in 1985, they spent their winters in Scottsdale, AZ, and their summers in Detroit Lakes, MN. Beverly passed away in 1990, and Bernie continued to reside in Arizona until his death on March 1, 2013. Bernie will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother. He enjoyed traveling, dancing and boating when he wasn't working and spending time with his family.
Bernie was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Geneva Malmgren, Ethel Welter, and Millie Grinden; as well as 2 brothers, Marlin and Elmer Lindrud.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Lindrud Bissonett, and her husband, Jim, as well as a son, Randy, and his wife, Jenny, and their children, Christopher and Rachel.
A Celebration of Life service for Bernie will be Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11:30 am, in Trinity Lutheran Church Christian Life Center, Moorhead.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
