Bertha T. Anderson

Bertha T. Anderson, 89, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, November 17, 2014, in her home.

Bertha Theodora Hannah Akrehavn was born December 10, 1924, the daughter of George and Garda (Vig) Akrehavn, in Sisseton, SD. She was raised on a farm near Veblen, SD, and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1942. After graduation she moved with her family to Fargo where she worked at Dakota Sash and Door.

On March 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harris Anderson in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo where she worked at Welu Dental Lab for 25 years, retiring in 1990. Harris passed away May 5, 1999, and Bertha continued to make her home in Fargo.

Since moving with her family to Fargo, she was a very active member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. Bertha enjoyed bowling, quilting, and gardening. She and Harris spent many summers at their lake home on Battle Lake.

Bertha is survived by her children, Joyce (Chrs) Christensen, Malibu, CA, Paul Anderson, West Fargo, ND, Robert (Teresa) Anderson, Callaway, MN, and Mark (Lorie) Anderson, Fargo; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister, Jeanette Akrehavn, Fargo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harris; son, Richard; and sisters, Louise Olson and Jenny Engstrom.

A visitation for Bertha will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Her funeral service will be Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 11:00 AM in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo.

She will be buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
