Betty E. Cruz Lopez

Betty Eleanor Quam was born November 26, 1920, in McVille, ND, to Edwin and Belle (Opshal) Quam. When Betty was a young girl, the family moved to Fargo, ND, where she graduated from high school.

Betty married Knute Cruz in 1946, in Moorhead, MN. She worked in the lab at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo. She later worked for Reed Cleaners and Quality Bakery, both Fargo, until she retired. Knute passed away July 16, 1975.

Betty married Aurelio "Aglee" Lopez on May 27, 1978, in Fargo, and they made their home in Moorhead. Aglee died January 14, 2001, and Betty continued to make her home in Moorhead, most recently at Eventide the Fairmont.

Betty died Saturday, October 27, 2018, in Bethany on University, Fargo, at ninety-seven years of age.

Betty is survived by her son, Eugene Cruz, Fargo; six grandchildren, Theresa (Randy), Michelle (John), Lori, Jason, Shane and John; eight great-grandchildren, Amanda (Alex), Allison (Josh), Christopher, Andrew, Zachery, Zariah, Destiny and Ryder; three great-great-grandchildren, Cameron, Arianna, and Grayson.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Elaine, Palmer, and Jerry.

Visitation will be from 9 AM - 11 AM, with a rosary at 9:30 AM, and funeral mass at 11 AM, Friday, November 2, 2018, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
