Betty Ann Harfield was born June 16, 1943, in Dilworth, MN, to Oliver "Speedo" and Gertrude (Lovejoy) Harfield.
Betty married Ken "Buzz" Gillette on April 17, 1957, at Duluth, MN, and they lived in California. They eventually relocated back to Dilworth, where they raised their family.
Betty died peacefully at her home in Dilworth, after battling cancer, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, under the care of her family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. She was sixty-nine years of age.
Betty touched many people with her stories and personality. She was a very strong and courageous person. Anyone who met Betty remembered her.
Betty is survived by her husband, Ken, Dilworth; sons, Ken Jr. (Julie), Glyndon, MN, Kevin, Moorhead, MN, and Kyle (Stacy), Beaver Creek, MN; daughter, Stacy (Ron), Beulah, ND; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy, Cody, Jacob, Nathan, Ashley, Jerrica, Kelly, Rani, Brandon, Kadie, Kayla, Casey, Zachary and Isaac; seven great-grandchildren, Addie, Ireland, Carter, Journie, Landon, Forrest, and Reese; and a sister, Donna Handegard, Moorhead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dwayne and Donald; and a son, Michael.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 22, 2012, from 3 - 5 PM, with a prayer service at 5 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Her funeral will be Monday, July 23, 2012, at 10 AM, in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth.
