Betty Jane Malmlov

Betty J. Malmlov, 77, of Moorhead, MN formerly of Shelly, MN, died on Friday, March 30, 2018, in Lilac Homes, Moorhead, MN.

Betty the daughter of Lester and Idella (Holty) Larson, was born May 9, 1940, in Shelly Township, where she was raised. She graduated from Climax High School in 1958. On November 29, 1958, she was united in marriage to Eskil "Ray" Malmlov in Lawton, OK. They spent their married life in Shelly until 2009, when they moved to Moorhead.

In her younger years, Betty taught Sunday school at Shelly-Marsh River Lutheran Church and sang with the choir. She enjoyed snowmobiling, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends. Betty was a lifelong dog lover, having had many, most recently, Olive.

As a homemaker and mother of six, she spent countless hours doing laundry, cooking and baking, as well as following her children to various activities. Betty was known for her sewing and crafting, making clothes and costumes for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid shopper and very knowledgeable in all things retail. Betty especially loved getting together with her large family, laughing easily and often.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ray; children, Kim (Scott) Blattner, St. Augusta, MN, Bambi (Philip) Hellerud, Halstad, MN, Raiko (Christopher) Blattner, Avon, MN, Deveryn (Brandie) Malmlov, Moorhead, Nathan (Amy) Malmlov, Prescott, WI, and Tiffany (Joel) Ziegler, Thief River Falls, MN; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Brian (Marlys) Larson; sister, Becky Spokely; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents..

A Gathering of Friends for Betty will be Friday, April 27, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM, Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
