Betty L. Fugere

Betty LaVerne (Setter) Fugere, 91, long-time resident of Moorhead, MN, passed away on March 2, 2017, in St. Anthony, MN. A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM., prior to the funeral service.
Betty was the daughter of Elvin and Armella (Rutten) Setter, the oldest of ten children. She was an enthusiastic, active member of St. Joseph Parish, a member of the Catholic Daughters, and was always willing to help in any and all capacities. She spent many years volunteering her time at nursing homes; she loved to take the residents for strolls in their wheelchairs. She will always be remembered for her yummy Rice Krispy treats. She had a passion for Birthright and the Dorothy Day House.
She was married for twenty years to Robert Fugere, after which she was a single mother raising four daughters. She is survived by those four daughters, Colleen Mosley, Renee (Dana) Ringuette, Mary Allen, and Bobbie (Jim) Williams. Betty was most proud of her daughters, always referring to them lovingly as 'my girls." She loved spending time, maybe just playing cards and games, with all her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by 11 grandchildren: Jeff Mosley, Chris Mosley, and Abbey (Mosley) Peterson; Sara (Ringuette) Sullivan, Joseph and Ian Ringuette; Ashley (Allen) Baker; Bridget (Williams) Barrick; and Eric, Chris and Jon Williams. Betty had 11 great-grandchildren: Ethan and Ava Mosley; Aidan, Nicklaus, and Drew Sullivan; Wesley and Harper Mosley; Hayden Peterson; Chloe and Rita Williams; and Will Barrick. She is also survived by her brother and sisters, Thomas Setter, Delores Marchand, Jean Marie Danielson, Cathy Hinz, and Peggy Abbott. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Maxine Rutten, and brothers, Don, Jim, and Jerry.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's School or the Dorothy Day House.
