Beverly A. Eide

Beverly A. Eide, 87, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead.

Beverly Ann Boen, the daughter of Melvin and Edith (Schustrum) Boen, was born March 8, 1926, in Fergus Falls, MN. She attended school in Fergus Falls graduating in the Class of 1944. While in school she played the clarinet. After high school she worked for Otter Tail Power Company and then at the Otter Tail County Courthouse. In 1947, she began working for the Fargo VA Hospital.

On May 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to John Henry Eide in St. James Episcopal Church in Fergus Falls. She worked for her father at Boen Grocery until the birth of their first child when she became a stay-at-home mom. Beverly and John moved to Bloomington, MN, in 1955 and then Moorhead in 1962. Beverly worked at the Moorhead Vo-Tech as an administrative secretary, which she thoroughly enjoyed. In her spare time she volunteered at Dakota Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Beverly was a member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, spending time at their cabin on Otter Tail Lake, planting flowers, neighborhood coffee parties and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching her grandson, Zach, play basketball.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; children, Bradley (Barbara) Eide, Onalaska, WI, Richard (Nancy) Eide, Glenwood Springs, CO, and Meridee (former spouse Steve) Gabbard, Moorhead; grandchildren, Courtney (Shane) Werre, Moorhead, Kristin (Nour Eddine Tahri) Eide, Mainz, Germany, Erin Eide, LaCrosse, WI, Kelsey Eide, St. Paul, MN, Alida Eide, Boulder, CO, and Zachary Gabbard, Moorhead/Perham, MN; great-grandchildren, Keegan and Callie Werre, and Yasmin Tahri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, William Boen.

Memorials may be given in Beverly's name to The Lutheran Church of Christ the King Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation: Sunday, February 16, 2014, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a 6:30 PM, Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel in Moorhead.

Memorial Service: Monday, February 17, 2014, at 11:00 AM, in The Lutheran Church of Christ the King in Moorhead.

Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
