Billy Bruce Belden

 Billy Bruce Belden passed away on February 4, 2025, in Moorhead , MN. He was born on January 1, 1921, in rural Fergus County Montana, to Clarke Belden and Luella (Heim) Belden.

Bill attended the Manly grade school through eighth grade and then went to Buffalo Montana High School, where he played basketball and graduated Valedictorian in 1938.

After graduation, he worked on the family ranch running cows and putting up hay.

Bill married Roberta Pitch on May 3, 1952, in Lewistown, MT.

 Bill liked to hike the land checking on the wildlife, the deer, the elk and the birds. He kept the ponds stocked with Brook trout. He continued ranching until he sold the property in January 2000. Quoting Bill, “We have had some good years, some not so good, but we have a million great memories”.

He was active in the Buffalo Community Church and taught the adult Sunday school for a number of years and enjoyed attending the Monday morning Bible study at Eddies Corner.

Bill often quoted his life verse. “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it”. Psalm118:24.

Some of the things he enjoyed were reading biographies, watching sports in-person and on TV.

He and Roberta rarely missed attending the Senior lunches, but their favorite place to eat was Eddies Corner, and especially for Bill the Eddies burger was always his choice.

In January 2019, Bill moved to Moorhead , to be closer to his daughter, Marjie. In March, he moved into Farmstead Assisted Living where he resided until his passing. He found new friends there and enjoyed the exercise time and the praise and worship time.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Marjorie (Charles) Reitmeier of Minnesota, Lexis (Michael)Van Epps of New York; daughter-in-law, Jeri Belden of California; sister-in-law, Mary Pitch of Helena, MT;

eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He preceded in death by his parents, wife, Roberta; son, Jack; sisters, Pat, Charlotte, Francis, Betty; and brother, Harry.

Bill’s memorial service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead.

There will be a service at the Buffalo Community Church in Montana on a future date.
