Birdine "Birdie" E. Grafsgaard

Birdine Grafsgaard, 90, died April 20, 2021, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN. Birdine Benedict was born February 16, 1931, in Taylor, WI to Burnett and Inga (Moe) Benedict.

She graduated high school from Black River Falls, WI, in 1948, and moved to Minneapolis, MN, to work for Sears Mail Order Co. She was married June 20, 1953, to Ernest Grafsgaard and they made their home in Moorhead.

Birdie enjoyed baking and sharing with many people. She was a charter member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead.


She is survived by two sons, Steve (Joanne), Denver, CO, and Stan (Gayle), Moorhead; daughter-in-law, Mari, Chokio, MN; two sisters, Margie (Jim) Meier, Lakeland, FL, and Darlene (Al) Goetz, Haines City, FL; one brother, Gene (Val) Benedict, East Troy, WI; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, David.

Visitation will begin at 12 PM, with a funeral at 1 PM, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead. Private burial will be at a later date.

Current CDC guidelines for Minnesota will be in effect at the funeral.
