Robert "Bob" Sturdevant, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND, at the age of 71.
Robert Charles Sturdevant, the son of Virgil and Lucille (Achter) Sturdevant was born in Breckenridge, MN, on March 15, 1935. He grew up and received his education in Wahpeton, ND, where he graduated from high school in 1953. Bob attended NDSU in Fargo for two years where he played varsity football.
Bob was an entrepreneur with various business interests. For the past seven years he also lived at his lake home on Lake Cormorant and owned and operated the "Corner Cantina" near Detroit Lakes. He was a private pilot and an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his four children and his nine grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He is survived by his children, Bruce (Kristi) Sturdevant, Walkersville, Maryland, Mary (Lance) Fuchs, Bismarck, ND, Linda (Jim) Simkins, Bozeman, MT, and Aimee (Robert) Mattson, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Josh and Gabe Sturdevant, Trista, Nicole and Sarah Fuchs, and Heather, Brittany, Amanda and Jessica Simkins; three brothers, Jim (Ellen) Sturdevant, Wahpeton, Terry (Carol) Sturdevant, Wahpeton, and Bill (Barb) Sturdevant, Moorhead; and a sister, Sharon (Dick) Holmstrom, Bozeman, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tom and Dick.
Memorial service: Sunday, February 18, at 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
