Bunmi O. Obembe

Pastor Bunmi Oshin-Obembe was born to the family of late Pa. Awoyemi O. Oshin and Deaconess Alice Ebun Oshin on February 23, 1956. She was the second born of seven children. Her eldest brother, Adetunji Oshin, died in 2020. Four siblings living in Nigeria are: Ranti Shin-Gaji, Bukunola Oshin, Olayinka Oshin-Oladoja and Pastor Olakunle Oshin. Bunmi's brother, Pastor Adeniyi J. Oshin and wife Florence live near Chicago, Illinois.

Bunmi attended Yaba Methodist School, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. From there she went to Mayflower Secondary School, Ikenne, Nigeria. She gave her life to our Lord Jess Christ while at secondary school After completion of Secondary School, she worked at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) where she rose to the position of Senior Petroleum Inspectorate Officer. She came to the United States of America in 1980 sponsored by NNPC to study Petroleum Engineering. She attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota and obtained an engineering degree.

Bunmi married Paul Tunji Obembe in 1981 but divorced later. They had two children. Christopher was born in 1985. Gift was born in 1988. She was a loving and devoted mother.

For many years she taught English as a second language (EL Education) in the Fargo and West Fargo Schools, working with children of immigrants. She was also a substitute teacher. She cared deeply for her students and prayed for them.

Bunmi was an avid lover of Jesus Christ. Despite the many challenges she faced, she remained faithful and committed to her calling in the Lord. Bunmi pastored RCCG King's Court Parish in Fargo. She was well known among families and friends as a preacher and soul winner for our Lord Jesus Christ until her passing unto glory on March 11th, 2025.
