Byron Bergee

Byron Keith Bergee was born August 31, 1921, in Halstad, MN, to Arthur and Minnie Bergee. He grew up and attended school in Halstad.
On October 4, 1941, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Jeannette Trom in Halstad. They continued to live in Halstad raising their two sons, Eugene and Gale, and one daughter, Sherry. In 1969 they moved to the Fargo, ND, area. In 1985 they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, and in 1992 to Dilworth, MN. Byron worked at McLaughlin's Sales and Service in Halstad for 25 years. He then worked for Curran and Company Pipeline for about 20 years. After retirement, he and Eleanor spent their winters in Arizona for eighteen years.
Byron also enjoyed hunting and fishing in Canada, Montana, Wyoming, the Dakotas, and Minnesota. Byron died Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the Halstad Living Center at the age of 91, under the care of Hospice.
Byron is survived by two sons, Eugene (Barbara) Bergee, Dilworth, and Gale (Linda) Bergee, Ada; son-in-law, Niles (Shirley) Bjerke, Audubon; brothers, Lyndon (Elaine) Bergee, Halstad, and Roger Bergee, Halstad; sister, Shirley (Don) Wolf, San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren, and twenty two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Sherry; six brothers and sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Shayna Marie Erickson.
Visitation: Tuesday, 5 PM until 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Funeral service: Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 11 AM, in Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth. Interment: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hendrum, MN.
